Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. Acts 13:1-2 |

Antioch School for the Teaching Ministry was established at Raleigh Institute of Biblical Studies in 2013 for the purpose of raising up men and women in the teaching ministry. Dr. William Suttles, an established teacher in the church for over 40 years, felt a call to mentor others in the teaching ministry and is the director of this program. Dr. Suttles maintains that the church in our day does not just need teachers of the Bible: “We need teachers who are also ministers in the process of teaching God’s Word.” It is strongly recommended that a student complete the Associate Degree in Christian Ministerial Studies program at RIBS prior to registering for the Antioch class. The stated plan and purpose of the school is: “The Teaching Ministry is not just about what you know; it is also about what you are hearing from God, and how best to say it.” It is to this purpose that Dr. Suttles seeks to mentor a small group of serious Christians over the course of a year in this process of being more effective in the teaching ministry.
Because of the interactive nature of these classes, the optimal class size is normally limited to around 5 to 10 students. Each student is expected to participate through discussions, various projects, and presentations to the whole class throughout the year. The goal is to build confidence and competency in being a true teaching minister to the Body of Christ.
The Antioch class will meet once each month January to June and August to October.
Antioch students are expected to attend all classes with no more than one absence for the year. There will be required assignments between class meetings which will be due by the next class meeting. The class meetings will not be recorded, so that there will be no way to make up what one has missed by not attending.
Tuition & Fees for the year: $1000 (this will include tuition for the classes along with all Books, Study Materials, CD recordings, Research Tools, etc. which will be provided to each student). This total amount will be due and payable prior to the first class meeting.
Interested students should fill out the attached application and return along with an application deposit of $100 (the remaining $900 prior to the first class meeting in January). Any questions or problems should be directed to ribs@raleighbiblecollege.com or by calling (919) 873-0100.

Here are some comments from previous Antioch School for the Teaching Ministry students: Dr.Suttles, "This class confirmed a lot of things I had been seeking God for . . . anyone who is seeking the call of God on their life will truly be enlightened by attending this class."
"Our class has become a part of my family not only brothers and sisters in Christ. A tight knitted bond was developed that will last all my life thanks to Dr. Suttles. This could only have come about by an anointed teacher that knows how to be used and guided by our Lord."
"It was a class . . . who bonded, and learned together! We are now better teachers and preachers because of the
